Hi, I’m Ryan and I’ve been working with cameras for the better part of the last 13 years. Taking inspiration from both photo-journalism and studio style works I try to encapsulate both into my own work, whether that’s documenting a wedding or music festival, or capturing deeply intimate portraits, striving to visually portray the stories written on my subjects face or features. I’ve always greatly enjoyed the subtle whimsy of the world outside, and have spent numerous years adding images to a series titled “Traces : What We Leave Behind” This project that began as a way to both keep myself entertained while walking to work and distracted from the dreariness of feeling stuck at a very standard retail job eventually grew into what would become my first gallery exhibit, the way in which I met my now Fiancé, and a deeply personal way of dealing with past struggles to find my place in the world, and while work on that project has slowed, I’m never above taking a few moments out of a walk or gathering to capture the whimsy and mystery behind some of the stranger things us humans look past, discard, and forget about altogether.
